Learn a new programming language, one-on-one

A weekly call with me, plus a learning platform built around your goals

Each week we meet 1:1 to work through what you're stuck on. Between calls you practice on a platform I customize for you: exercises built from the kind of code you'll actually write.

Apply for a spot

Who it's for

  • Developers picking up a new language for a job, a migration, or a project
  • Teams porting an old codebase (Perl, PHP, Python) to a modern stack
  • Learners who want structured practice and feedback, not another video course

How it works

Weekly 1:1 call

We review your progress, work through the hard parts together, and plan the next week.

Your own learning platform

A private copy of my learning app, loaded with exercises for your language and your goals. It runs on your computer.

Practice that adapts

Reorder scrambled code, fill in the blanks, spot the bug, and port programs between languages. Help fades as you improve.

Try the exercises

Try a few sample exercises in Python. Your platform uses the language you're learning, with exercises built around what you want to do with it.

Reorder

Put the lines in an order that runs. Lines in the same block can go in any order.

Why: putting a program back in order makes you think about what each line needs before it can run, without getting stuck on syntax.

  1. print(average([90, 72, 85]))
  2. return total / count
  3. def average(numbers):
  4. count = len(numbers)
  5. total = sum(numbers)

Python 3

Fill in the blanks

Type the missing keywords.

Why: recalling the exact keyword, not just recognizing it, is what makes syntax stick. The rest of the program gives you the context.

def count_vowels(word):
    count = 0
     letter in word.lower():
         letter in "aeiou":
            count += 1
     count

print(count_vowels("Programming"))

Python 3

Type drill

What type does this Python expression produce? One guess.

Why: after switching languages, a lot of bugs come from values behaving differently than you expect. One-guess questions build that instinct fast, and the explanation shows the rule.

result = 7 / 2
